Navision integration module launched
Brainum successfully launched its Navision integration module.
Brainum BV, leading provider of management systems for liquid bulk terminals, has held a survey among terminal managers in the Benelux, involving terminals of various types (Oil, Chemicals) and sizes.
The survey focused on time spent by terminal managers.
Main conclusions from this survey are:1. Managers spend too much time searching for the right information
2. Managers would like to be able to spend more time on “managing” the terminalThe environment in which liquid bulk terminals operate these days differs a lot from the situation 10 years ago. Governments, shareholders, customers and employees all require to be kept informed pro-actively on the operations at the terminal. And each of these “stakeholders” has the demand for specific reports, suited to their specific needs. It takes the terminal a lot of time to supply these stakeholders with the required information; mainly because the information is either not available or often stored in various systems and (physical) files.
All this searching for information keeps the terminal manager away from his real task: managing the terminal. Instead of fire fighting and micro managing, he wishes to spend more time on (strategy) issues like business process improvement, Six Sigma and client satisfaction.
Integrated management information systems could solve part of the issues. First of all, the required reports can be specifically built in, drastically reducing the time to report. And secondly, these systems fill the gap between theory (risk assessments, procedures and work instructions) and practice (employees and how they perform their tasks). With such a system, terminal managers continuously improve their standards. And it makes it a lot easier to demonstrate to the auditors that you ARE actually in COMPLIANCE…
Brainum, a Dutch company armed with a strong background in the terminal industry, has developed such an integrated information management system, called Qino. Successfully in use at more than 20 terminals worldwide, Qino changes the way terminals are managed. Making them safer, more efficient and more profitable.
